Caity is a paediatric speech pathologist working at Delacombe Primary School every Friday.  Caity has experiencing working with children from infancy into late adolescence within private practice, education, and tertiary sectors.  Caity is passionate about supporting the communication of young people through the development of their speech, language, social communication and literacy skills. Caity enjoys working within a school environment to support student’s overall and functional communication needs to support their access to the curriculum and participation in the classroom.

Caity works closely with the school’s leadership, teaching and learning support staff to conduct assessments, design, implement and manage targeted intervention programs and set goals aligning to each student’s needs.  Caity works closely with Jade (STAP co-ordinator) to run Delacombe Primary School’s STAP program. This program provides much needed speech and/or language intervention to (?) prep to grade 2 students, supporting the development of their speech, language, literacy and overall communication skills.

Beth is a paediatric Occupational Therapist with experience working across community and educational settings with children and adolescents. Her practice is rooted in learning intervention, which focuses on understanding how students learn and identifying the conditions and supports they need to engage effectively in classroom tasks.

In her role at Delacombe Primary, Beth supports students across all year levels to engage with their learning and daily school routines. She works alongside students in the classroom, leads small group intervention, and collaborates closely with teachers and education support staff to identify barriers and implement practical adaptations that improve access to learning. Beth values student voice and partners with children and young people to co‑design strategies that build confidence, independence and meaningful engagement in school life.

At Delacombe Primary School, our Speech Therapy Assistance Program (STAP) is led by Jade, our dedicated STAP Coordinator. Jade works with students across a range of year levels to support the development of their communication skills, including speech, language, and social communication.

Jade collaborates closely with speech pathologists, school leadership, and classroom teachers to identify students who may benefit from additional communication support. She conducts a variety of assessments to determine individual needs and delivers targeted intervention programs tailored to each student. Support is provided through individual sessions or small groups, typically in two 30-minute sessions per week.

Jade is passionate about fostering positive school experiences and ensuring students feel confident and engaged in their learning. She prioritises building strong, supportive relationships with students and designs sessions that are engaging, purposeful, and connected to real-life classroom and social contexts.

Through STAP, we are committed to empowering our students with the communication skills they need to thrive both academically and socially.

Psychology Services

Our EAL Specialist supports students who are learning English as an Additional Language to develop the skills they need to participate confidently in classroom learning and school life. Working closely with classroom teachers, Caitlin assesses students’ English language abilities, identifies their learning needs, and provides targeted weekly support through small group or individual sessions. These sessions focus on developing students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills so they can successfully access the Victorian Curriculum and build confidence using English in a range of contexts.

Caitlin also works with classroom teachers to support the assessment and reporting of students using the Victorian EAL Curriculum. This ensures that students who are still developing the English skills required to meet the Victorian English Curriculum standards are appropriately assessed and supported.

We value the rich cultural and linguistic backgrounds our students bring to our school community and are committed to supporting multilingual learners as they grow in confidence and capability.

Delacombe PS is proud to have formed a relationship with Federation University to use their Provisional Psychologists. This commenced in 2025 and this year it has continued. Once consent is gained the Provisional Psychologists come to school and work with students across a semester. This work can then provide pathways for students and families where applicable.
