BALLARAT YOUNG AUTHORS' PROGRAM

The “Ballarat Young Authors’ Program” has been developed by the Gifted and Talented Network with a particular focus on writing.  The program has been created to inspire our talented writers and to mix with other like-minded students from other schools.

There are a number of schools that have teachers involved in creating this program.  Those schools are : Buninyong Primary School, Delacombe Primary School, Lal Lal Primary School, Dana St Primary School, Pleasant St Primary School, Caledonian Primary School, Lucas Primary School, Miners Rest Primary School and Woady Yaloak Primary School.

The program offers at least three opportunities for students to work with an author and teachers from the network and seek feedback from others involved in the program.  The aim of the project is for students to see what it takes to be a writer and understand how the audience might perceive their writing from peer and teacher feedback.

There are a range of dates that are set each year and we have over 90 students from Grade 4-6 involved.  At Delacombe we select 16-20 students each year.
