Delacombe Primary School has been selected as a finalist in the 2011 Education Excellence Awards and has recently been advised that we will be participating in the Intercultural Understanding Field Trial as one of 20 schools selected across the Government, Catholic and Independent sectors
Welcome to Delacombe Primary School situated only minutes from the Ballarat CBD. We pride ourselves on our core beliefs; respect, responsibility, integrity, personal best, consideration and enjoyment. Our recently refurbished school was established in 1981 and with our new dedicated ICT building we are leading the way in teaching and learning.
We encourage friends, families and new students to take a tour of the school and see what we already know... Delacombe Primary School is a great place to grow.

What a great week we had celebrating Literacy and Numeracy Week at Delacombe Primary. Over 90 children turn up for their green eggs and ham breakfast on Wednesday morning. It was great to have Bruce Roberts from Win TV as our guest chef. We saw lots of fairies and princesses, heroes and villains on our dress up day.
The students and teachers had a great time working in their Jiating groups focusing on literacy and numeracy activities. Normally we only see our Jiating kids once a week for half an hour so it was great for them to spend most of the day together involved in some engaging learning. On Friday we concluded the week with the fathers' day stall and special lunch.

The fundamental philosophy that underpins the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program is that by setting good examples and engaging children's curiosity, as well as their energy and their taste buds, we can provide positive and memorable food experiences that will form the basis of positive lifelong eating habits.

The Boys, Blokes, Books, Bytes and Balls (B5) project will develop a reading culture among our adolescent boys through a series of activities in the school and public library. B5 will also support the transition from primary to secondary school through the involvement of secondary and primary school boys and jointly run events and activities. These activities reflect the style of learning that appeals to boys, and they involve blokes (adult males) as positive role models and reading partners.
